Yifeng Mao

I was born in Shanghai, China, with dreams of becoming an ocean scientist stationed at the Shanghai-Yangshan Deep Water Port, the largest container port in the world, or a fluid modeling engineer for Formula One, which holds a Grand Prix in Shanghai. These early interests led me to the field of fluid dynamics.

Outside of research, I like observing ocean waves and have enjoyed activities such as skydiving, surfing, and snowboarding. I also played contract bridge competitively for four years and was a former member of the Japan Contract Bridge League. I still play occasionally on Bridge Base Online, so feel free to reach out if you'd like to pair up.
